....and it's reminding us to hug our kids, appreciate our educators, and always be aware of what is going on around you.
This was my daughter's school day today. Some jackhole parent showed up to confront a teacher, and brought a handgun. Lovely.
HUG EVERYONE YOU LOVE AND DON'T FORGET TO TELL THEM LOUD AND CLEAR.

Did you almost have a heart attack? Was Madison scared? I am SOOO thankful it wasn't worse!!!
Wow! Being a retired teacher I have my share of horror stories like that. It doesn't surprise me at all that these things happen. It surprises me that they don't happen more often. Walmart does a better job of protecting their stuff than we do at protecting our kids.
I truly hate to think that we as a society are in such a sorry state that we have to have metal detectors and armed guards at schools. But (I would hope fervently) that a metal detector would have stopped this man from even entering the school.
This was a horrific happening averted. Thank heaven.
I thought of Madison (and you) this morning when I heard the news. I mean, a fender bender? Doesn't he understand: polic report? insurance claim? What a total nimrod. I am glad everyone was okay. Give her a hug for me.
