Elliot and Olivia

More new stuff on the farm, because ADDING chores is exactly what one should do when returning to full time work....let me introduce Elliot and Olivia - the Ancona Ducks.
DD is holding Olivia...and yes, she is wearing pajamas. (Doesn't everyone when they farm?)

We want to expand our egg offerings at the Farmer's Market this season - chicken, quail, and duck. (Duck eggs are particularly nice for baking and making noodles/pasta)

And how about another pic to peruse:

Well?

I sure like the looks of your Ancona ducks.

The mystery picture? I'm saying a turkey gobbler.

That looks like a tom turkey part. If I hadn't been wearing my glasses I would have guessed hamburger!

What beautiful ducks! I'm with the other ladies- turkey parts! (I thought hamburger too Michelle but the hairs/modified feathers gave it away...and gave me the creeps!)

What lovely ducks!

I'm with the other ladies- Tom turkey parts. First glance had me guessing hamburger like Michelle, but then I spied the hair/modified feathers...those definitely don't belong in hamburger.

Oficially? It's a SNOOD. The fleshy thingy that hands down from his head. Pretty icky looking up close, but rather funny when he's trying to eat the treats so fast that he gets his own snood caught in his beak...
